The Basics

Hire goblins to mine for you. Merging goblins result in increasing their mining skills (lowering the required time). It is not just working towards the end of your mine. There are chests that give rewards including cards that can be upgrades to improve your performance. There are production areas that can be activated and automated that produce gold and other resources. Your goblins keep working for you if you close the game, so put them to work and put your device aside (or play another game while you wait for them to complete their task).

Difficulty

It does not necessarily become more difficult, you just have to wait longer and longer for the timers to complete, because of the higher levels rocks etc.

Variation

New mines contain various mineshafts and higher level rocks, but so far I haven't seen much in the terms of variation.

Visually

Everything looks very good, especially those goblins working for you in the mines, or standing idle by with their tools, awaiting your orders.

Free vs Paid

Feature complete for non spenders, but there are ads. Sometimes you get could in game goodies for watching an advertisment. Hard to ignore.

Is It Any Good?

I give Gold and Goblins: Idle Miner 7 out of 10 stars. Interesting mining game, not sure why I like it, because there are a lot of timers.
