Introduction

In the Missions section, you find four different types of Missions. In this article we will give a description of each category and some tips and tricks as to how to maximize their usefulness.

Base Missions

The Base Missions contain rewards for achievements in the game. There is for example a mission corresponding to each research project level and building level, but also missions related to training troops, combat, resource production etc. Just by playing the game, especially early on, you will complete loads of missions automatically. Most common rewards for completing those missions are Commander XP and resources. There is also often some power increase and for some of the Misc and Deployment subcategory missions you also are rewarded with some Items.

Collecting these Missions is a great source of Commander XP. You might consider using the following tip to maximize the Commander XP. Instead of collecting these missions as they became available, save them up until you have reached a higher level with your Hall of Heroes (the higher it is, the more the actual XP is that you get when Collecting Missions). If you have a lot of Missions, you might even consider using a 25% Commander XP Bonus item (2000 gold) before you start collecting a large number of Missions.

Daily Missions

Daily Missions are available for everyone. They will refresh each 6 hours and the counter only starts running down once you login again (i.e. if you have not logged in for 6 hours or longer the Missions always have a counter of 6 hour). The number of missions depends on your VIP level, it will be higher for higher VIP level, when VIP is active. You can start one mission at a time and collect them once the timer is done. Once you hit VIP 7 and VIP is active, you can auto-complete these missions. The reward is resources, commander XP and a chance of a material or mod. The materials that can drop have changed over time. Initially it was just standard materials, now it can be any of the Standard Materials, the older Economic Materials, and the older Special Event Materials. It seems anything that was introduced before the Combat Investigator Gear. It is as of yet unsure whether the newer materials will also become available as mission drops, or whether these remain to be exclusive in packs. On the one hand it is nice that so many different materials can be acquired via the Missions, on the other hand it is very hard to get specific materials you want. Even if you are looking for standard materials like Silicon, you might still only end up with a couple of lvl 1s after using hundreds of Missions. For the confirmed drops of materials in missions see our Mission Types Overview. This is not complete (the Daily Mission Type is the most complete of the three).

The Daily Chance Special Item allows you to get a new set of Daily Missions. Do not be misled by the in game description, it is not so much about getting a chance to improve the quality of the missions, but just getting a new set. You should always complete the current missions first before using a Daily Chance. Also wait with using them until you have at least VIP 7 and have VIP active, so you can auto complete. Also keep in mind the tip under Base Missions about the Hall of Heroes and the 25% Commander XP Bonus item. Typically you might combine this once you collect all your outstanding Base Missions, use a 25% Commander XP Bonus item first and follow by using all your Daily (and Alliance) Chances. Daily Missions are considered a great way to get Commander XP and materials, and many consider it a good investment to use alliance loyalty to purchase Daily Chances or Alliance Chances from the Alliance Store.

Alliance Missions

Alliance Missions are in many ways similar as the Daily Missions, so I will just discuss where they are different. They are only available when you are part of an alliance (which you should always be). Next to the payout that Daily Missions have Alliance Missions also give some Alliance Funds and Loyalty. The loyalty can be used by you to purchase items from the Alliance Store. The Alliance Funds automatically go to the alliance and can be used to restock items in the Alliance Store. Alliance Chances are twice as expensive as Daily Chances in the Alliance Store, but of course there is the benefit that from Alliance Missions you get new Loyalty. I have not done any analysis on which one is better to use, I tend to go for Daily Chances. The autocomplete for Alliance chances becomes available at VIP 8.

VIP Missions

VIP Missions are also very similar to Daily and Alliance missions. I will focus on the differences. VIP Missions are only available when VIP is On. At VIP level 7 the VIP daily streak bar is unlocked. Early on the prizes you can win by completing this can be nice, but the prizes do not get higher as the game progresses, so later on you might not bother. There is only little you can do to influence it anyway, mostly you can chose to postpone collecting a VIP quest until the daily bar is reset or you can decide to use a VIP chance. There is no auto-complete for VIP missions. Like Alliance Missions VIP Missions give as reward also loyalty.

If you are not worried to be without VIP status on for a short time, you could consider letting your VIP expire and renew afterwards. You need to be careful, you do not want to miss out on those higher level VIP combat boosts when you are sneak attacked. The benefit of for example using up a large amount 30 or 60 minute VIP activations one by one and letting them expire each, is that when you reactive VIP your VIP Missions and the bonus Daily and Alliance missions you get for having VIP on will be refreshed, irrespective of the timer. This means you get some nice extra missions each time.

Mission Insignia

The Monument building allows you to activate Insignia that can an increased chance of higher quality missions.
