Introduction

The game keeps introducing new gear at a fast pace, but these new gear sets require materials from special events and without spending you realistically cannot manufacture a set. The guide below will focus on attack gear sets we recently introduced on our website that only require standard materials. The standard materials are unfortunately also not easy to come by, but easier than the special event materials. We will compare the stats of the standard material based Armored Vehicle, Tactical and Infantry Attack equipment to the available special event equipment.

Gear Sets

In the overview of Gear Sets we have the Armored Vehicle (Standard), Infantry (Standard) and Tactical (Standard) gear sets for each troop type.

Comparison

We compared these sets to the latest released special event set of the same troop type with the Gear Set Comparison Tool. We have not done individual comparisons to all available special event gear sets, but feel free to try that out yourself with the Gear Set Comparison Tool in the Tools menu. See the results of our comparison below:

The infantry and tactical attack sets with only standard materials hold up quite well against the currently available special event sets. If you rather not spend much money on the game, it might be better to focus on one of these sets instead of special event sets. The armored vehicle set is not bad either, the special event Armored Vehicle set is just significantly more superior.

As a general observation, even for spenders it might be better to mix equipments from different events, even considering standard materials, as there are no bonuses yet for complete gear sets and it seems to be the case not all equipment in new sets is superior to what was already available.

Quality Level

Since even the standard materials are hard to come by, going for a yellow/level 6 set is not going to be easy. You might consider settling for a lower level, which is in most cases perfectly fine. When deciding I tend to look at how fast the boosts decline if you go from level 6 to 5, from 5 to 4 and so on. In the newer gear in Game of War it was often the case that for lvl 5 you got only half the boost as you got for lvl 6, so this might be the future for Mobile Strike as well, but as it is it is often the case that for a lvl 3 gear you still get half the boost as you get for the lvl 6 gear, e.g. the Full Metal Jacket accessory gives 12.3 Infantry Attack for Lvl 3, 24.6% for lvlv 6. In such cases, you have to think whether it is realistic to get 3 lvl 6 accessories (or even lvl 5 or 4) and realize that 3 lvl 3 accessories are a lot cheaper (material wise, not coin wise) to manufacture than 1 lvl 6 and do give a higher boost.

Mods

Do not forget or underestimate the Mods. Like with materials, it is not easy to get enough to combine to lvl 6 mods, even the standard ones, but even at lower levels they can make a huge difference. Our Armored Vehicle Attack set has a 86.5% Armored Vehicle Attack bonus from the gear at lvl 6. By just equipping one lvl 4 Armored Vehicle Mod in each of the 7 pieces of gear you get a total of 84% Armored Vehicle Attack, so the Mod boost could easily be higher if you have either higher lvl of the standard Armored Vehicle Mods (in theory you can also add special mods to the other two slots that give you additional Armored Vehicle boost, but in practice it is more efficient if you use Health and Defense mods for those slots). Unless you have huge amount of mods, do not combine them too high. You should keep in mind that 4 lvl 4 mods give a lot more boost than 1 lvl 5 mod

Conclusion

There are some decent attacking gear sets to be made with just standard materials, which is a good alternative for the special event gear sets, which are normally impossible to be made without buying several packs.
